Raising capital: the 7 do’s

All start-ups need to raise capital at some point in their lives. Nevertheless, for most of them, this turns out to be a difficult and tiring process. Stakes are high because they involve the project ownership. The risk of opening the share capital to the wrong shareholder should not be underestimated. Additionally, start-ups are often ill-prepared to engage into technical financial and legal negotiations, whose outcome can however be extremely important to their future development.
In this workshop, Guillaume Dasnoy, Senior Corporate Finance Consultant and Louis Vanheurck de Tornaco, Financial Associate, presented 7 recommendations to start-ups seeking to raise capital, based on Deminor’s experience, which may help them manage the risks embodied in the process and reduce dilution.
