The Deminor team was pleased to welcome a large audience in the Ghelamco Arena in Ghent.
This year the Deminor debate evening was completely dedicated to the family business. Prior to the evening, filled with an interesting panel discussion and walking dinner, the Deminor team organised three different information sessions, including a session on the legal, financial and tax aspects of family transfers.
What are the different options for transferring a family business? What is involved? How do you start and what aspects do you need to take into account?
During this session, Jan-Baptist Cooreman and Lien Verhasselt discussed the different steps in the transfer process; the legal aspects, the documents and the importance of valuing the business. They also discussed how the transfer is treated from a tax perspective.
